Newman has experienced more faculty and staff turnover since former Dean of Students Levi Esses resigned before the start of winter break.
Help Desk and Classroom Technology Coordinator Sonja Vogt resigned last week. Icer Vaughan, the Chief Information Officer of Administrative Computing, did not say why Vogt resigned but said that existing staff members will take over her duties while the position is vacant.
“With the resignation, we’re taking the opportunity to review duties and responsibilities of the position to evaluate the current and future needs of the IT department,” Vaughan said.
He said they have not yet set a timeline for hiring a potential replacement.
Director of the Counseling Program and Assistant Professor John Walker is also no longer employed by Newman, multiple Newman staff members confirmed.
Vice President of Finance and Administration Jennifer Gantz did not comment on the staff and faculty turnover, saying the university “cannot comment on personnel.”
Walker, who is currently listed as a Title IX investigator and confidential resource on the Newman website, is no longer listed on the faculty and staff directory.
