If you’re anything like the Grinch in need of holiday cheer, here are some Christmas events coming up on and off campus.
Holly Jolly Christmas Party
From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday in the Dugan Conference Center, Kaleidoscope and other diversity clubs will be hosting their annual Holly Jolly Christmas Party. There will be games, food (egg drop soup anyone?), a hot chocolate bar and more. There might even be a special appearance from Santa Claus. Admission is $3 with all proceeds going toward families in need for Christmas. Last year the event raised $1,000.
Breakfast and Bingo
Sunday evening will feature CAB’s biannual Breakfast and Bingo. The Sloppy Joe Improv Team will kick the night off with a performance. Then, students can enjoy a breakfast buffet catered by Great Western Dining. The evening will end with the opportunity to win prizes like $200 gift cards, a smart tv and more. Doors open at 8 p.m. in the Dugan Conference Center and will close at 8:20 p.m. The event is open to students only.
Illuminations
Botanica Gardens has opened its Illuminations light display with over two million lights, themed gardens, live music and Santa. Illuminations is an annual event that many Wichitans say gets them in the Christmas mood. The display will be open nightly 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. through Dec. 31. Tickets can be bought for $10 for adults at the door or at any QuikTrip. Find out more information here.
Free Movie Showing
Not fond of lights? Wave, a social and multimedia venue, will be hosting a free showing of “Love, Actually” at 6:00 p.m. on Dec. 8 in the outside portion of their venue. Find out more information here.
