Director of Athletics Joanna Pryor has resigned from her position at Newman, according to a news release posted on the Newman Athletics website at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
While Newman searches for a replacement, Billy Murphy, director of bowling and assistant athletic director, will serve as the interim athletic director.
Pryor is stepping down after five years. She was the only female athletic director in the MIAA conference and served a total of 15 years in various positions in Newman’s athletic department, including head volleyball coach, associate athletic director, and compliance coordinator.
"I will miss the people,” Pryor said in the release. “I love our student-athletes and there is nothing more I wanted and will continue to want for them an exceptional academic and athletic experience at Newman.”
