Newman University is once again participating in First Friday, the city-wide gallery crawl that brings art lovers out on the first Friday of each month. This month’s exhibition, titled “Flight Safety and How Not to Drown,” will officially open with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in the Steckline Gallery in DeMattias Hall.
The show will feature pieces by artist Yulla Vega and will be on display through April 25 at the first-floor gallery, which is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
An Art for Lunch event, which will include free pizza for students and a discussion of the exhibit by Vega, happens today from noon to 1 p.m. in the gallery.
