Newman’s Student Athletic Committee held its annual Jetspys ceremony on Wednesday, and a long list of student athletes were recognized.
The Jetspys, whose title is a play on ESPN’s ESPY awards, were given to top student athletes in various categories at an event put on in the Newman Performance Hall. Though the event did not include dinner this year, athletes were treated to dessert by Great Western Dining, and they all dressed up.
Thomas Munn won the coveted Mr. Jet award and said It means a lot. I love this university and I love the people here, so just the ability that is shown upon other people, it’s just an honor to me. I just gotta thank all my teammates and classmates for this honor.”
