Freshmen Ashten Dodson and Elijah Salas-Arriaga not only run for the Newman Jets but also juggle another sport while in college. As the cross-country season approaches the end, Dodson will don the Newman uniform on the wrestling mat while Salas-Arriaga will wear one as a triathlete.

Much of what Newman students see of the spirit squad is them performing on the sidelines and on the court during games, but what students don’t see is what keeps the squad busy in the community.

Though the men’s and women’s bowling teams started slow with their first meet of the season, head coach Billy Murphy said they are looking toward a season full of breakthroughs.

Freshman Katie Stanford can be seen on the softball field, as well as the stage, performing feats of both physical and intellectual strength.
